Dave Mabry Talks Everything

I have been fortunate to broadcast high school sporting events with lots of people over the years. One, I am fortunate I got to do a game with is Dave Mabry. Coach was part of the Narrows staff (and is again) in his southwest Virginia home. In Central Virginia, he had several coaching stops in Campbell County. Coach (He'll always be Coach to me, even though I may call him Dave) is starting to digitize some old games and has a You Tube Channel http://www.youtube.com/@mabryfamily4123 This won't be the only time Coach Mabry will be on the podcast, but we talk some historical football and his "project" of bringing some old football to the internet. The Sports Buffet Classic: Mickey Crouch Reviews Morhead (NC) at William Campbell

It's a flashback episode on The Sports Buffet. In 2006, Morhead (NC) travelled up to Naruna, to take on William Campbell. Mickey Crouch was coaching Morhead. I only had the pleasure of talking to Coach Crouch, I think four times. For me it was a treat. Coach Crouch passed away a little over two years ago. To say he was everyone's cup of tea, probably wouldn't be 100 percent truthful. But, I found Coach Crouch engaging and humorous (and most importantly truthful and straight forward). He recapped this trip up to Virginia on The Sports Buffet Podcast.

Back in 2006, Morehead (NC) made the trip up to Naruna, to take on William Campbell. At the time, Brad Bradley was the head football coach at William Campbell. So many similarities in what Coach Bradley was then and what he is now. Coaches lose games and players win games. After a loss, it was the next game up (and it still is) for Coach Bradley.
